Warehouse Person (1 Peterborough)

Location: Peterborough, Ontario

We are a major Ontario Wholesale Distributor of Industrial, Commercial and Residential plumbing, heating and air conditioning equipment, and industrial pipe, valves & fittings. We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Person on our Day Shift in our Peterborough, ON branch.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Branch Manager, is responsible for picking orders, packing orders, assisting with receiving, shipping/loading trucks. May serve customers at the counter and over the telephone as required.

Duties Description

  • Prepares and packs the orders for loading and shipping and double checks all picked orders for accuracy of count and type of material.
  • Assists in receiving, verifies stock and places material in appropriate locations designated by the Receiving Report. The material received may be from suppliers or Bardon branches.
  • Loads company vehicles/trucks when all material is ready for delivery to ensure prompt and accurate deliveries and to ensure all material loaded is secured and safe for delivery.
  • Responsible to maintain a safe and clean warehouse and counter area for other employees and customers by keeping aisles and shelves clear of objects and/or potential danger.
  • Use and maintain equipment (ie.material handling equipment, pump trucks) in a safe manner and to inform supervisor immediately of any problems with equipment.
  • Serves the customer at the the counter by taking orders, either by writing down or entering onto system.

Education:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent.

Experience

  • Up to twenty- four (24) months experience in warehouse environment as order picker/packer using industrial material handling equipment

Skills

  • Able to communicate clearly both verbal and written
  • Able to work in a safe manner within warehouse
  • Read & Writes English
  • Mathematical skills (counting)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to do physical work – lifting/carrying/moving

Receiver (1 Belleville – Afternoons)

Location: Belleville, Ontario

Bardon Supplies Limited is a major Ontario Distributor of Industrial, Commercial and Residential plumbing, heating and air conditioning equipment, and industrial pipe, valves and fittings. We have an immediate opening for an experienced Receiver in our Belleville branch on our Afternoon Shift. The work schedule is Sunday to Thursday (Sun 2 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Mon to Thurs 4:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.)

Job Summary

Under the Warehouse Supervisor's direction, ensures that all stock received from suppliers are received and put into the appropriate stock location or in designated overstock areas. Follows strict receiving policies and procedures.

Duties Description

  • Receives all products entering the warehouse, inputs packing slip into computer system by proper identification of purchase order number and/or product number.
  • Verifies product and product quantity against the receiver.
  • Labels all non-stock products appropriately according to company procedures.
  • Places products that are received in proper bin locations and directs other order pickers as to proper locations for products.
  • Identifies appropriate location for overstock items and informs expediting and order pickers of these products locations.
  • Assists in order picking and stock shelving when required.
  • Takes a lead position in inventory preparation and count.

Equipment used: Industrial lifting equipment that may include: Forklift, Reach Truck, Order Picker, Walkie power pallet truck.

Education: Grade 12 or equivalent experience

Experience

  • Min. one (1) year experience as order picker/warehouse position.

Branch Manager (Belleville, Ontario)

Location: Belleville, Ontario

We are a major Ontario Wholesale Distributor of Industrial, Commercial and Residential plumbing, heating and air conditioning equipment, and industrial pipe, valves & fittings. We are seeking an experienced BRANCH MANAGER at our Belleville, Ontario location.

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Regional Manager manages day to day operations involving inside sales, estimating, and warehouse distribution functions. This position will make improvements in efficiencies in the areas of the company that directly affect customer service issues and operations.

Duties Description

  • Responsible for the security, and health and safety of employees, equipment, customers and visitors to the location.
  • Supervision of the branch in terms of efficient utilization of resources (human, equipment, systems. supplies etc.)
  • Responsible for the continued development of staff by identifying training needs and developing staff skills.
  • Responsible for cross-training of personnel to ensure critical areas are covered.
  • Supervises and initiates continuous improvement programs intended to increase effectiveness of inside sales and distribution departments.
  • Receive calls and correspondence regarding customer issues and prepare action plans to ensure the issues do not re-occur.
  • Responsible for participating, planning, communicating and implementing promotional activities eg: Counter days, special promotions, and product information seminars/training.
  • Participate in the development of recognition initiatives
  • Ensures that training and performance appraisals are complete and documentation is completed concerning training, disciplinary actions etc.
  • Responsible for compliance and enforcing established policies and procedures.
  • Liaison with the warehouse supervisor to reduce loss, and ensure efficiencies of operations.
  • Responsible for developing budget proposal for branch in areas of equipment, human resources, systems etc.
  • Recommends and suggests ideas to generate growth for the branch as well as recommends ideas to problem-solve any issues regarding the branch.
  • Responsible for meeting branch goals and performance according to financial ratios.

Qualifications

  • 3 years management experience leading a team of 20 or more employees
  • 3 years experience in the wholesale plumbing and heating trade is an asset
  • Proficiency in customer service and strong leadership skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Computer literate

Inside Sales (Belleville)

Location: Belleville, Ontario

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Branch Manager or Regional Manager will serve the customers by phone or in person at both the service counter and through the order desk. This position requires constant follow-up and communication with purchasing, shipping, expediting and sales people to ensure the highest possible level of customer service. The focus of this position first and foremost is to ensure that we meet or exceed our customer’s expectations.

Duties Description

Actively uses selling techniques to increase sales i.e. complementary and substitution products as well as specially priced items.

  • Receives from customers by phone, fax, and mail or via sales representative, sales orders and enters all information required for order picking into the system.
  • Answers customer questions pertaining to price and product. Supply customer with relevant information. Provides alternatives and suggestions when appropriate.
  • Calls customers for additional details and/or to give them the availability of special products and/or the replacement.
  • Provides small quotes to customers using computer system as needed.
  • Transcribes all non-stock material in order for the purchasing dept. to order the material.
  • Assists when required, in all aspects of branch activities.
  • Follow-up on direct shipments from suppliers to customers to ensure billing to customer is timely.
  • Must be willing to participate in various training programs (ie. vendor training sessions. etc.)

Education

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent

Experience

  • One year (12 months) warehouse experience, order picking
  • One year (12 months) experience related to customer service in the plumbing and heating trade.
  • Two years (24 months) minimal experience related to inside sales.
